A Clean-in-Place (CIP) system is the automated heart of hygiene in Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) and juice processing lines. This closed-circuit equipment is designed to clean the interior surfaces of pipes, tanks, valves, and fillers without disassembly, ensuring sterility while maximizing productivity.
The core components include dedicated CIP supply and return pumps, heated dual tanks for caustic and acid solutions, and a sophisticated network of valves directing flow. For juice lines, which are prone to tenacious pulp and sugar residues, the CIP cycle often employs a robust caustic wash followed by an acidic rinse to remove scale and milkstone. CSD lines, highly susceptible to sugar and syrup, require a similar rigorous approach.
The process is precisely programmed. It begins with a pre-rinse to recover product residue, followed by a recirculated hot detergent wash that dissolves soils. An intermediate water rinse precedes an acid circulation for descaling, crucial for maintaining heat exchanger efficiency. A final sanitizing rinse with sterilized water or steam prepares the line for production.
This automated system guarantees consistent, validated cleaning, eliminates human error, and is essential for meeting stringent food safety standards, protecting both product integrity and consumer health.
It is available in Fully automatic and semi automatic modes.
